What is our mission?

Our community of nonprofit member organizations strive to be a safe, supportive, and dynamic community, achieving our respective missions and serving our clients more creatively, efficiently, and cost-effectively. We believe that we are far better together than we could ever be working in isolation.

What’s the difference?

Heartwood offers affordable space to non-profit charitable groups, as do a few other organizations in Ottawa. What makes us different is our mutual belief that we are better together. On a practical level, sharing meeting rooms, photocopiers, fax machines and other resources are common daily practices. But it’s much more than that! Heartwood is a village of community minded people who take the time to know and support each other, resulting in a welcoming environment where people feel valued and respected. We share a mutual interest in learning about each other and our struggles and accomplishments and we help each other in our respective work.
