March / April 2008 ~ Rivka Waas "Life Experiences"
Painting is the most natural way for this painter to express herself. Her personality comes out in her paintings which reflect, without a doubt, her inner-self and her wishes for harmony in human kind. Her work reflects what the firmament, earth, forest, water and fire symbolize in her world. Rivka's paintings bring out the person she is ... Bubbling and real!!
March 2008 ~ Denise Landriault
PAINTINGS and DOLLS "My whole life has been one big bowl of creativity. From raising my children to cooking, gardening, placing little vignettes in my home. In 2003 I opened a little shop with a great gal -- we named it "Heavens to Betsy." Today I paint in the summer and fall, make my cloth dolls in the winter, and co-run my shop. My dolls are special little creatures, oddly beautiful, intricate and unique. The dolls enabled me to correlate my love of painting with the intensely personal apsect of making a doll, in all its complexities." February 2008 ~ Veronica Reid-Donald Cultural Mosaic Veronica is a descendant from a rich African heritage. Her parents come from the Caribbean. She was born in England, and later immigrated to Canada with her family. She is a living example of "Cultural Mosaic". This exhibit is about the mixture of cultures. Her artwork depicts African rhythms and sounds, as well as blues and jazz, which were influenced by the African music. She then goes from the familiar scene of umbrellas and rain in England to the beauty of a Canadian crisp winter snow scene of shadows casting in the snow. December 2007 / January 2008 ~ Heartwood’s Own "Come and see Heartwood's Own, as we display proudly our talents, both hidden and discovered. Folks from all the Heartwood member groups, staff and family have been invited to come and share their crafts and art throughout this month."
