Heartwood House is accepting applications for volunteer job opportunities at our reception desk.
Heartwood House is home to fifteen nonprofit organizations. Each day our volunteer reception staff are busy greeting participants, volunteers and other visitors who receive the services of our member group programs. The OC Transpo Lost & Found program is also located at Heartwood House. Each year we receive approximately 30,000 items that have been lost on OCT buses. Our reception staff respond to several hundred calls per day from OCT customers looking for their lost items, not to mention over 60 visits per day from customers at our reception desk. The Everybody Wins Computer and Electronics Recycling program is an exciting recycling initiative that is run by Heartwood House too! Over 225,000 pounds of electronic waste equipment has been dropped off at our location since 2007.
